Dan love, The DL45 Creator
Dan Love, a first-rate Iowa engraver and gunmaker, began collecting mainly handguns in 1960 and continue to this day. Along the way he developed an interest in designing and making several types of guns but only had files and a drill press as main tools. After making a rifle and a couple of single-shot pistols with just common hand tools and the drill press, Dan decided to try his hand at engraving. He began learning gun engraving in 1988 and shortly thereafter became a Certified Professional (now known as Master Engraver) in the Engravers Guild of America. He later became a professional member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild.
Dan built a small shop on his farm where he could engrave firearms, and it was then that he decided to design and build a target pistol that had been on his mind for many years. He bought a lathe and mill, and he taught himself how to use them while building three prototype pistols. The third handmade prototype pistol was shown to Revol Arms' founders, who immediately recognized the innovation and potential of the design. That prototype has become the first product manufactured by Revol Arms LLC.
Dan has also designed items for gun companies, custom gunmakers, holster makers, and reloading tool makers and is pleased to be partnering with the Revol Arms team on the DL45.
